Don’t Look Up!
A Citywide Campaign for Eclipse Safety in Albany
In advance of the 2024 solar eclipse, I led a bold, pop culture-inspired public safety campaign to raise awareness about eye protection in Albany. Tapping into the cultural resonance of the film Don’t Look Up, we turned a moment of celestial wonder into a creative, citywide PSA.
The Challenge
How do you capture attention for a critical—but often overlooked—public health message like eclipse safety? Simple: get creative, be visual, and meet people where they are.
Whether it’s developing campaigns for city-wide initiatives, designing event visuals, or producing high-impact social media content, I’m committed to delivering creativity with purpose.
The Concept
We reimagined the movie poster for Don’t Look Up—a satirical film about ignoring obvious danger—to deliver a literal, safety-first message:
“Don’t Look Up… without your eclipse glasses.”
The campaign featured prominent Albany residents, city officials, and community members all posing in eclipse glasses, mimicking the movie poster with a purpose.
